- Searchlight - This Web site allows users to search research-based professional development and instructional materials developed by the Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. Users can also take courses that draw from materials such as the Teacher Reading Academies for Texas Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
- Tool for Analyzing Core Reading Program for Grades K-3 - Educators can use A Consumer’s Guide to Evaluating a Core Reading Program, Grades K–3: A Critical Elements Analysis, developed at the University of Oregon, to evaluate their K–3 core reading program in the five critical components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Such an evaluation is a key step in strengthening the core program.
